For this post, I wanted to reflect on each of my years in high school.  Some are good, some are bad memories, but they are all part of the high school experience that I had. Freshman year, I am so sorry to Mrs. Geneksy for having to know me 4 years ago.  The only good thing to say about that is that she can tell her grandchildren that she taught Andrew Rodts(who will be famous) for 3 years in high school.  When she told me this year that I used to wink at her from the back of the class in the 20 building, I realized how far I have come from that freshman year Andrew. But going into high school, I was super nervous.  I came from a private school, a big minority compared to most everyone else who came from public schools. I always had the fear of not being at the same level that other people were at.  I knew only one other person coming to Millbrook with me and probably what scared me the most was that I hadn't needed to make friends with people since I was in...

STEP 1) Go to https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/projects/documents/walt-whitman-and-abraham-lincoln. Click on the "Document" tab. Scroll through Whitman’s notebook and write down anything you notice- can you make out any words? Images? What might be significant? What is revealed about Whitman through his inner thoughts? From the pictures of Whitman's notebook, initially it looks like nothing more than a diary.  It has a lot of seemingly meaningless words (most of which I cannot read) which I am sure made perfect sense to him but have me pretty lost.  On the first page, there is a few addresses it looks like, the one that I can make out is of Charles Hine.  Also, for the first two pages, there are stamps printed on them.  They remind me of the types of stamps that one can receive when they travel to different states and can collect the stamp of each state that they have been to.  The second page has a few words that I can read that say "Brochure, two characte...
